9 Tips for Hijabis to Maintain Healthy Hair on this Lockdown

Published on April 27, 2020

The whole world is dealing with lockdown this 2020. So, if you are looking at the positives of this quarantine period, it would be that our hair and skin are in good health since you are indoors. If you are a hijabi, you will realize the effect of hijab on hair. So, while you are at home, it's probably a good time to fix your hijab hair. That said, here are 9 tips for Hijabis to maintain healthy hair this lockdown.

Let your hair breathe

One of the most important things to bear in mind is that your hair needs to be kept free. When you wear a hijab, it is kept tied and wrapped for long hours. Thus, now that you are at home, let your hair down and we mean, literally...!!! Leave your hair loose so that it can breathe and get some fresh air. Don't use hair ties or accessories. Just let it flow free for a few hours every day.

Opt hairstyles that don't cause hair loss

Choose hairstyles that prevent hair loss. Avoid the ones that cause breakage or hair loss. For instance, do not tug your hair back too tightly into a bun or ponytail. As mentioned above, let your hair down as much as possible.

Massage your scalp

If you are suffering from hair loss, then one of the best things to do for your hair is getting a scalp massage. Massaging your scalp daily for 15 minutes before bedtime promotes blood circulation and leads to healthier hair growth. You can also use a small amount of light serum to massage it.

Fix split ends

For those who suffer from split ends, trimming your hair is the best way to prevent further damage and ensure healthy hair growth from the roots to the ends. Also, hydrate them well using oils and conditioners.

Hot oil hair treatment at home

Use natural oils such as castor oil, olive oil or coconut oil as part of the hot air treatment. Heat oil in low flame for 2 minutes and once warm, apply it from the scalp to the ends of your hair. Massage it for 15 minutes and leave it on for 2 hours. Now wash your hair using a mild shampoo and conditioner. This treatment helps in thickening the hair and strengthening the hair follicles/roots.

Grow hair naturally - Home remedy
